Medicyte is a generic term for all types of invasive microscopic robots used in medicine. There is great diversity in the design and function of medicytes. The first medicytes were primarily drytech with biotech interfaces but as nanotechnology advanced syntech became more dominant, especially in the Sephirotic empires.
Bio- and syntech are easily removed from the body, often medicytes of this type have the capability to undergo biological apoptosis allowing them to be safely removed by the host's body. Drytech medicytes cannot safely degrade in their host (their degraded products can get lodged in tissues and can even be toxic) and so instead either excrete themselves via sweat and urine or if available are dismantled by marrocine.

- Cytobot - Text by M. Alan Kazlev
A bot approximately the size of a cell. Alternatively, a bionano or biomeso-based and/or built or grown organic device the size and shape of a biological cell; an artificial but still organic cell that can be given instructions like any nano or mesobot.

Treatment or prevention of diseases, injuries, and physical disorders in organic beings. Includes study of anatomy and physiology, diagnosis of the illness, use of medical bionano and hylonano, pharmaceuticals, invasive and non-invasive surgical techniques, holistic healing, xenomedicine, virtual medicine, and historical medicine.
