Formed from the merger of two closely orbiting stars, this blue straggler has high angular momentum and an oblate shape
Rare class of hot, young, blue stars that are formed in old clusters by mass transfer from asymptotic-giant and red-giant stars onto main sequence stars, collisions, and by mergers between binary stars. Most blue stragglers are found in globular clusters, but about 30 blue stragglers can be found in M67, a very old cluster about 2900 ly from Sol in Metasoft/Sophic League space, and many more in NGC 188, at the edge of Panvirtuality space.
