Homo habilis
Ancestor of Homo erectus, Homo habilis lived in Africa during the latest Pliocene and early Pleistocene approximately 2 to 1.6 million years ago. E differed from previous hominids in larger brain size, omnivorous diet, and creation and use of rudimentary tools.
As with other hominid types, the species has been successfully lazurogened by hyperturing hobbyists a number of times. Some eventually, given symbiotic intelligence-enhancing bionano made their way into mainstream galactic civilization, but most "freed" sub-sapiens hominids remain in sheltered enclaves throughout the Utopia Sphere.
